Post subject:  Terrible frame rate, help appreciated.

So I recently dug out an old computer from storage so I could play the game with my girlfriend. I have the game running on the computer but the frame rate is abysmal, almost unplayable when we went to the dunes for the first time. It’s running on a 2.80 gHz processor with 4gb memory on a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. When I pulled the thing out of storage I completely wiped it so the only thing on the computer is Nasomi. I’ve already set it to high performance, cleared the temp folder and set the graphics to improve performance but it didn’t seem to help in the least.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Turn the clipping plane down, turn shadows off, and max characters displayed down

@The_Carrot Are all these settings in the config part of the game menu?

The fps thing WeGe mentioned is a console command you type into the chat box. The settings that Carrot mentioned, are yes... in the Menu > Config.

Yes! That was the cherry on top after dumbing down the resolution to play on default. Game runs smooth if not pretty in the least but I can look over to her screen on my nice rig and enjoy the textures. Band-aid applied until I can send this potato out to pasture for good!

Thank you!
