I saw this problem mentioned further down and i'd hoped there was a solution in there... but there was not! I followed the install guide step by step and nothing i do will have it find FFXI in file check on POL. I've resorted to uninstalling, re-downloading and trying again from scratch. I'm running Windows 10 OS for anyone wondering. Is this a common issue or am I missing something during following the install guide? |

You didn't copy the update files into the ffxi directory correctly. That's what enables the ffxi in the dropdown. If you do it right, it should prompt you to overwrite a bunch of stuff. |

It prompted the overwrite when I copied them over but i still couldn't get FFXI to appear. I'm re-installing as we speak, hopefully I won't run into any issues and I just did something wrong the first time around. |

Double post! Seems to have fixed itself, i likely didn't copy the update files correctly as you mentioned. Thanks for the help! |
