I tried to install, but when I try to run the batch files on my desktop it just crashes, both the configuration and the launcher. What am I doing wrong here? I should say that I am still running Windows XP, I looked but I couldn't find a OS compatibilty listing at all. Edit: I used the direct download instead of the torrent option, not sure if there's a difference between the versions |

You're going to run into 2 problems. 1. You used a destination that wasn't just a drive letter. re-run the installer and type only C as destination. Not C:\ or C: etc. You can click Cancel when the file transfer pops up. If no file transfer pops up, and you did only type C, then you need to extract the zip in the data folder so that your file paths look like Code: C:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\... 2. XP is 32 bit. There is a bug in the current installer and 32 bit systems. The fix is here: https://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title ... ng_happens Quote: Cause: If you're on a 32 bit system, the registry file is buggy in the v17 of the installer Fix: Within your installer folder, find the 64 bit registry file. Right click, edit, ctrl+h (find+replace) "\WOW6432Node" with a blank. This will make the paths look like: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS] instead of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnlineUS]. If you used a drive other than C during installation, edit the file to reflect this. Save the file, run it, and then you should be able to run the game. and maybe.. 3. Ashita may not run in XP. If that happens, you can still run the game by making a shortcut for the C:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod\boot.exe file, editing the shortcut path to be Code: "C:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod\boot.exe" --server nasomi.com --hairpinand then running that shortcut. |

Well I was smart enough to extract it, running the install from the .rar just gives you a bunch of errors and doesn't lauch the visual basic installer either. But I think you're right about the 32 bit compatibilty. I tried what you said and I'm not sure if it installs, I can't find anything in the folders the registry files use. Which is C:\program files\Common Files The install does give me an error line that says: 'Dism' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I made the changes you suggested to the 64bit registry file, although the command lines in the installer do use the 32 bit file(or at least it says it does) I don't know if the software is incompatible with Windows XP, but the installer might be. So what OS do you know that this does run on? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong here.....I dunno I'll take another crack at it tomorrow, it's late. /sleep |
