I own a PS4, and thought that I could use the PS4 controller for FFXI, like I could back in the PS2 Era. I downloaded DS4, but for some reason, the DS4 controls won't work when used for FFXI. Anyone hae any experience with this? Edit: I believe I got it working. Not sure how, but it's working now! |

Yes. I used a PS4 controller for a long time here. I swapped it for a third party controller with a long wire as I was always unplugging it during moments that you don't want your controller to unplug lmao. I could never get it to work wirelessly, but that's probably just my technological ineptitude. EDIT: I can't read. Nice! |

In case people are still unaware/future people looking for solutions, newer versions of windows should support ds4 cotrollers natively with direct input. So for games that only need direct input (like FFXI) ds4 controllers should work without any extra drivers. The caveat is you need to use it wired, I think. For Bluetooth you'll probably still need to use an xinput wrapper, but I haven't bothered with that yet so, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

I use a DS4 with the DS4windows program for wireless xinput. works flawlessly for me. |

Took me a while to get mine working so I wrote this quick guide ages ago on how to fix with ds4windows. works with the Bluetooth wireless. Hope it helps viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3641 |
