Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking a lot about how much I share about my kid online. I used to post pictures and little stories all the time, but lately I’ve started wondering if that’s really okay or if I’m oversharing. Sometimes it feels like friends post every little thing, and I’m not sure where the line is between cute updates and risking privacy. Do you guys think about this when you share photos or stories of your kids online? |

Absolutely — that’s something I’ve struggled with too. I found a really helpful guide that talks about how to avoid “sharenting” in a way that protects your child’s online privacy and identity: How to Avoid Sharenting: A Guide to Your Child’s Privacy Online . It gave some solid tips on limiting identifiable info, adjusting privacy settings, and thinking through what you post before hitting share. Ever since reading it, I’ve been way more mindful about what goes up and how widely it’s shared. |

Great topic! I don’t have kids, but I see this a lot from cousins and friends. I think the idea of preserving a child’s digital footprint makes total sense — once something’s online, it’s basically permanent. Some people I know create private albums or share things only with close family instead of posting publicly, and that seems like a good middle ground. At the end of the day, it’s all about comfort level and thinking ahead! |
