Hello some of you may have seen me on the server strolling around with my gimp warrior, anyways this is the shader mod i use for FFXI to make it look even prettier after setting the res to 1080(the ashita provided to us those this already). anywho i will show you some pics of how the game looks with the effect on and off, aslo a little guide how to install it and what to do. Be warned this does put more strain on the cpu since we convert dx7 calls to dx9 so reshade can work, dgvoodoo converts the api calls, reshade injects the shaders for effect like DOF,AO,Sharpening,FXAA etc.

Changelog:
12/12/17

Made the guide much easier to set up with default Ashita Setup.

Installation
1.Extract Theunholys-Reshade-pack.zip archive with ether winzip or winrar, to the root of your ffxi-boot folder inside your ashita folder, Usually X:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod

Remember to select your driver letter at the begging of each path its usually C:\ mine just happens to be D:\.

2. Run the tool called dgVoodooCpl.exe and make sure you set these setting on each tab

3.Locate Reshade.ini
Change the following lines:
This line EffectSearchPaths=
This line TextureSearchPaths=
This line PresetFiles=
This Line ScreenshotPath=

To look like this
ScreenshotPath=X:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod
EffectSearchPaths=X:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod\reshade-shaders\Shaders
TextureSearchPaths=X:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod\reshade-shaders\\Textures
PresetFiles=X:\NasomiXI\SquareEnix\Ashita\ffxi-bootmod\ffxi2.ini

The rest leave them as default.

Use this screenshot as reference

4.After you have made sure to configure dgVoodooCpl.exe and edited the ini file Reshade.ini, fire up ashita, after the game boots up wait for shaders to compile on your top right corner, if all goes well you should also see a water mark for DGvoodoo on your lower left corner of the screen, this indicates both reshade and dgvoodoo are working.

Also you might get an fps dip, depending were you are, remember you are taxing the cpu with converting Dx calls keep that in mind. also some dust,gas effect have no transparency, like the plaguebreath form lizards, its nothing mayor if i remember to take a ss i will pos tit here.

5. Now after the Game has booted up, press Shift+f2 on your keyboard, a window will show up, you need to make sure were you select the profile, for the shader effect, i took a picture of my screen to show you what i mean.

Whenever I use dgvoodoo all the 3d models in the game become invisible. Is this a common bug?

Yes. There is a version of dgvoodoo that doesn't make that happen.

You can also use the dx9 ashita proxy and avoid dgvoodoo. it makes ffxi run n your GPU if you have a mixed cpu/gpu setup just like dgvoodoo does.
