in retail my name was Bita: I was probably 15. The only one i knew my age that was even curious about ffxi. Only one i knew with the playstation HDD. when i installed the game i had no idea what i was getting into. It was a late night and i had school the next morning. I couldn't think of a name and just wanted to jump in and play so i came up with some gibberish of the top of my head and it stuck. It sounds like "please" in German (bitte) but it has no meaning. I just became attached to it and stuck with that character. Nasomi name Saiga: I like Russian weapons. I like animals. Saiga is both. |

I've always found it difficult to come up with a unique name that I liked, so I thought up a system that anyone can use (similar to the "What's your Star Wars name?"). For your first name, you take your full name (ie John Michael Smith) and conjugate it (ie Jomith). Then, think about something your really enjoy (ie Skiing), and something related to that can be your surname (ie Alpine). I think this method gives you an always unique name with a really personal touch. That's how my character is named Pathayne Syrah. |

I've always been a bit of a RPer in the past, and I used to have a long-term RP going with my now ex. We'd think up all sorts of names for other characters aside from our main ones until we finally decided to expand more inward with a family. My name is the outcome of that, and ever since then I've started to use it instead of my usual names, and it gives something fun to share with my ex from time to time since we still keep in touch :3 |

I use the name Moogle cause I once became Chancellor of Germany in 1933.... shortly after that I thought it would be good to keep my head down and start a new life in the hotel service industry to keep me active, I had enough money saved up from my previous job so it was more of a hobby really and the name Moogle kinda fitted the role. :3 |

Selwyn is originally an Anglo-Saxon name, also occasionally spelt Selwin and Selvan deriving from 'Sel' (castle/house) & 'wyn/win' (friend), roughly meaning "A friendly guy" or "addict". It is also an anglicised version of the Irish surname Sullivan. I would consider myself a friendly person and I’m addicted to ffxi so it’s fitting. I added the “V” to make it a bit unique. |
