Welcome! FFXI is a challenging one that's all about the grind, but it's one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've ever had, personally. Make sure to read through the forums and tips here for newer players. There's a lot of stuff to learn regarding macros, equipment, stats, jobs, getting xp, and how to complete some really cryptic quests. Refer to https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/ if you get stumped or want more info. It's an excellent resource. Getting started is tricky because you don't get map markers, have to buy most of your maps, lose xp when you die, and basically there's just no hand holding in this game. They just drop you in the world and expect you to figure it out. Type this in game sometime: /sea all lolbst If I'm online, it'll pop up a window with my name in it. /sea is the search command and adding 'all' after it will ensure you search all zones. From that window you can send me a tell (which you can also do by /t or /tell). If you find me online (I'm not on every day, so it's hit or miss), I'll swing by where you are and lend a hand and toss you some cash to get started. |
