Post subject: | Some party making tips |
I hear a lot about people having trouble making parties so i feel like a thread where people can share tips on things they've learned throughout the years to help others was warranted. ____________________________________________ Basic Party Tips: To Function properly most exp parties need (properly geared...) At least 1 main healer (or Power Leveler) (whm) (rdm or smn* 40+) 1 Support Healer/DD (smn/blm/rdm) 1 Tank (PLD/NIN/WAR*/ (x/nin*) 1 Support Tank/DD (NIN/WAR/SAM/ (x/nin)) 1 Misc Support (BRD/COR/SMN) 1 Puller (RNG/THF/WAR*) DDs can include pretty much anything : DRG SAM DRK WAR MNK RNG COR BLM SMN THF hell even good whm/nins * if desperate keep in mind that even though jobs may matter to an extent its about the skill of the player and the synergy of the party. If you have someone in your party like (i.e anagramed ciPyt) which randomly goes afk for long periods of time with no notice, youll probably have to kick to make the party thrive. Just remember you cant make everyone happy. _____________________________________________ Utilizing search functions: /sea - searchs area your in /sea "name of zone" - searches zone /sea job - searches zone for 'x' job /sea all 37-40 whm inv- searches all zones for any 37-40 white mage currently seeking __________________________________________________________ Party Leader Responsibilities: As a party leader you have to make sure your party is constantly going, you don't want unnecessary downtime where it can be avoided. -Be courteous - keep everyone on the same page - keep notes of great team players (physical /friendlist) (also keep notes of players to avoid) - keep track of when people need to leave and line up replacements ahead of time - arrange a level sync and a backup if necessary - do prior /sea "zone" 's make sure the area is free ________________________________________________________ Where to party: For the most part these urls should be considered but level ranges may have been adjusted slightly since these were edited last. http://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Exp:Leveling http://campsitarus.blogspot.com/ (minus toau lands) 65+ you have to be more creative, but you can do Birds in Mis Coast/ manaburns can do BST pets in Toau/Jellies _________________________________________________ Only you can keep Vana'diel great~ |

Make friends for party slots that you often find yourself needing, like a tank or WHM. Be an exceptional person if you're a typical DD, this will get you invites even though you aren't a tank. |

Also, make sure your weapon is at or slightly under the level that you have sync'd to. It doesn't matter how good the weapon is (if it's a relic weapon, sure, gl) it will scale terribly. This goes for ammo as well. The last thing you want is to get your DD's and they are hitting for 9-15 dmg instead of 25-50. |

Also equipment bonuses when level sync iirc are 1/4th rounded down like serket ring at 30 would only give like 12 mp (Unless this changed) |

I just remember one day being a level 30 in a sync an 18 party and a true level 18 in the party was doing substantially more damage than me at 30. Blew my mind. |
