Hello all I saw a post on Reddit about this community and decided I should give it a go. I always wanted to play FF XI, but things often got in the way, and by the time I could have had the chance, people were saying that it was ruined/broken or whatever do to imbalances. So, I never did try. I'm a long time Final Fantasy fan. I have played all the originals and will likely continue to play Final Fantasy games in the future. I am currently taking some time off from another community (non-FF) where I have been a bug tester and part time (amateur) developer of sorts. I really hope to have an engaging experience here and get a needed break (maybe a permanent one) from the other place. I'm going to get familiar with the rules first, and figure out the game mechanics and the like as best I can. I am leaning on playing a Red or White Mage at first. Maybe I can set a goal of becoming a Blue Mage or Beast Master some day. We will see. It looks like some advanced jobs are not available/listed, probably for balance? I am not fully educated on how the jobs, advanced jobs, and support jobs work yet. In all honesty, I am a noob to both FF XI and Nasomi. Wish me Luck Cheers! |

Welcome! You might also try the get started link on the main page, and most importantly, the controls link. FFXI controls can be challenging, until you get used to them. All the advanced jobs minus DNC/SCH/RUN/GEO are available, the only one with real issues is puppet master. They're just not listed because the issues are generally few and far between, the vast majority of content is working as intended. Most here have been hooked to this game for over a decade, so say goodbye to your friends and loved ones, grab a controller, and get ready to throw your social life away. |
