So I've been playing FFXIV for a while and have always heard that this is one of the best MMOs so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm completely new to this so it'll be an experience, but I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs of the game. So if you have any advice or want to find me, I named my character the same name as my username (Pumakam). See you in game! |

Welcome! Bear in mind the 2 games have totally different concept. XIV is modern, fast-paced with lots of hand-holding. XI, nada. You're thrown into this world full my mystery where quests are for telling you the story line and not for XP. It will be rough, but if you're like any of us, it will also grow on you. In my 20 years of gaming I had never feel attached to any other game like XI. It felt so real it was like home. Have fun! |

To echo that, current retail version XI has evolved to be a bit more hand-holding and much harder to die when simply traveling around the world, and to get you to cap quickly and easily. Nasomi server is NOT like that. Make friends, talk to people, and don't be afraid to ask for help or just questions. |
