Hey there, my character is Hyne. Came across this free server on YouTube yesterday and decided I should try it out. I’m having a lot of fun but there’s still so much to learn. Being redmage am I going to be at a disadvantage having to spend more money on magic? Equipment alone is looking really expensive at low level already. What’s the best weapon I should use as redmage? |

Hey there, welcome to FFXI. Yes, Rdm is probably the most expensive of the starting jobs because it can wear most melee gear and still has spells, so you're hit with two different expenses. I'd highly suggest using a sword over a dagger, onion swords, bronze swords are usually cheap from either the AH or NPC vendors and will take you to level 9 or 10. |
