Well, excited to come back and get a taste of FFXI. Having a blast so far. Nobody will help me though, nobody has spoken to me. My other friend logged on and was greated by a kind player with 20k, and another 20k. I cant even get a lvl 10 scale mail without 10 hours of playing and praying auction house stuff sells.

I'm trying to farm Spook. This kid Namaii is just auto spamming it even though he already has the travelers mantel. it's just rude. I've not gotten one sense of community from this server so far and with people like that it just ruins it for everyone. Getting off for that reason. :cry:

FFXI is a difficult experience.

Yes, there's a lot of competition, because everyone is trying to get the same stuff you're trying to get -- gil. Because of that, feelings can be hurt, but that's just part of the FFXI experience. A difficult journey where before you succeed, you must suffer. Don't expect handouts, not everyone has the name "Ninja" from Twitch.

Instead, you could've done some basic research and find out that there's ways to make money by vendoring items (quite possibly the most efficient way of making gil now that the server population is high). With some dedication and time, you can pickup fishing with the purpose of vendoring the fish to NPC's, without the worry of competition.

Also, the community here is very helpful. Just don't expect people to stop what they're doing because you, for some reason, deserve gil more than they do. Don't be a snowflake.

Yep, some players get hand outs, some don't. If you don't there is a guide here that tells you how to make money depending on the starting city your in. Talking about spook im assuming you started in Sandy. Check into it. Search the forums for gil guides.

But if your really going to quit because your outclaimed by someone at an nm and didnt get gil handouts, then it sounds like this server isn't the right fit for you. You def wont cut it in later gameplay.
