| Post subject: | My Introduction & Questions on Nasomi Server |
Hello, I played FFXI back when it came out on the PS2 (I believe in 2002) and quit around 2005~. The reason I quit is most of my friends moved on to WoW, so did I. I used to play as a Galka named Galkaknight and a TaruTaru named Zond from Carbuncle of the official Square Enix servers. I have been wanting so much to return to the FFXI of old before Square Enix ruined it with level 75-99 and the introduction of Trusts to make the game solo-friendly. I come here to maybe find some of my friends from Carbuncle who have heard of me and re-live the nostalgia. I am obviously very rusty, but I hope this server is "new" player friendly. My question on this Nasomi server is, what type of information does it log from our computer besides IP address (as I saw the forum captures that). Maybe I haven't been able to find it anything on it, but I don't like connecting to a server without knowing what type of information I am giving it or what comes along with the download, forgive me for being cautious. I look forward to re-living my nostalgia from back then and make some new friends. |

Welcome back to FFXI! The Nasomi client doesn't log anything besides what's needed to connect (IP address). It doesn't access any other files or programs on your computer, so anything else that's 'logged' is whatever you provide explicitly, like your actual activity in the game (zoning, trading, AH purchases, sales, etc). |
