Shout in your starting city for members. There is always someone who needs the help. The first couple of missions are level 30 so you can get started quick!!
Pro tip: Try and have everyone commit to being a "Static" party, this is a group who meets regularly to do the missions.

Once you get to Mission 4 - 2 "The Savage", you can hire these guys to get you the items.

I have personally hired them for my swift belt and they are on the money pro.
I recommend them to any newbie like myself with no linkshell.
