I can't say I experienced the decreased bite rates in dungeons, but I certainly didn't track it officially. I felt like I had a decent rate in both Gusgen and Qufim. |

there is no decreased bite rate in dungeon areas, only thing that really seems to matter is number of fish that can bite and the the fish being targetted all baits and rods that work also have identical bite rates in my experience |

Is there a point to get 100 or is 96 the stopping area? I ask because everything I've seen stops there. Also would you need a Lu Shang to hit 100? |

There's no reason to go for 100 fishing especially if your aim is making gil. If you want to grind for an Ebisu, you'll hit 100 fishing up the legendaries (Lu Shang needed). I agree with Vik below that fishing gets pretty lackluster. After getting an Ebisu, I now fish only when needed to supplement cooking. I've moved on to more lucrative ventures. Fishing can be good if you're just starting out and can put in the time to get it to a decent level to generate some income. |

With the nerfs to Silver Shark, Ahtapot, and Mercanbaligi, what would be a better path to go with for skillups and gil, if any? |

Fishing is mostly for beginners I think. Helped me out when I first started, big time. Even with the major nerfs, your goal should be to get to the black bass level and you'll have a steady income for getting spells and gear on jobs you're leveling for the first time. Tl;Dr black bass still good. Keep going until you reach that level. Guides should be the same IMO, just takes longer to get to the 50k an hour Gil level. |
