So you reached level 75! Congratarulations. Before you jump into endgame there are a few things you need to do first. Yes, I know, it sucks, but this is ffxi, suck it up buttarucup!

Get an xp buffer. You will probably die, and there's nothing more embarrassing than deleveling. I personally keep my xp buffer capped by staying in non-merit mode. As soon as my xp buffer caps, any subsequent xp is turned into limit points. This way, I never ever have to worry about it, and when I do die, it's such a trivial thing for the next 1-2k xp to go to xp points rather than limit points.

Your basic straight off the AH BLM gear, assuming career BLM, looks like the following:

Nuking: ice/thunder spells

Weapon: Iridal or Ice/Thunder staff, if you have a full set of nq staves, I can turn it into an iridal for free.)
Sub: Bugard Leather Strap +1
Ammo: Phantom Tathlum (Budget: Morion Tathlum)
Head: Demon Helm (Budget: Wizard's Petasos)
Neck: Elemental Torque (Budget: Philomath Stole)
Ear1: Moldavite Earring
Ear2: Morion Earring
Body: Igqira Weskit
Hands: Wizard's Gloves
Ring1: Diamond Ring (Budget: Zircon Ring)
Ring2: Diamond Ring (Budget Zircon Ring)
Back: Rainbow Cape
Waist: Arachne Obi
Legs: Errant Slops
Feet: RSE, or if a taru, lolwziard's sabots

Enfeebling: (sleep/bind/gravity/slow)

Weapon: Iridal/Respective Elemental Staff
Sub: Bugard Leather Strap +1
Ammo: Phantom Tathlum (Budget: Morion Tathlum)
Head: Igqira Tiara
Neck: Enfeebling Torque (Budget: Spider Torque)
Ear1: Morion Earring (Optional, 1 INT only gives 0.5~macc on enfeebling spells, may not be worth the inventory slot)
Ear2: Morion Earring (You'll already have at least one)
Body: Wizard's Coat
Hands: Errant Cuffs
Ring1: Diamond Ring (Budget: Zircon Ring)
Ring2: Diamond Ring (Budget Zircon Ring)
Back: Rainbow Cape
Waist: Arachne Obi
Legs: Igqira Lappas
Feet: RSE, or if a taru, lolwziard's sabots

Dark: (drain/aspir/stun)

Weapon: Iridal/Dark Staff
Sub: Bugard Leather Strap +1
Ammo: Phantom Tathlum (Budget: Morion Tathlum)
Head: ----
Neck: Dark Torque (Budget: Philomath Stole)
Ear1: Morion Earring (Optional, 1 INT only gives 0.5~macc on dark spells, may not be worth the inventory slot)
Ear2: Morion Earring (You'll already have at least one)
Body: Black Cloak/Vermillion Cloak
Hands: Errant Cuffs
Ring1: Diamond Ring (Budget: Zircon Ring)
Ring2: Diamond Ring (Budget Zircon Ring)
Back: Rainbow Cape
Waist: Arachne Obi
Legs: Wizard's Tonban
Feet: RSE, or if a taru, lolwziard's sabots

Many of these items have expensive/HQ equivalents. The order of buying is as follows. Use budget alternatives in the meantime.

0. Things to buy that are slightly expensive yet needed, get these by the time you have 75; they come first.
Igqira Weskit: 90k
Igqira Tiara: 50k
Igqira Lappas: 220k
Iridal Staff: 600k, or ice/thunder/dark/wind staff: 300k~total

1. Elemental Torque: 700k (Drops from the OWNM in Valley of Sorrows: Basic strategy is 4x BLM, 1x RDM, 1x THF. THF pulls, RDM and/or BLM cast gravity, then kite-nuke it.)
2. Chatoyant Staff: 6-7mil or Aquilos 800k->Jupiters 600k->Plutos 600k->Auster's Staff 600k
3. Bugard Leather Strap +1: 60k
4. Demon Helm: 50k (optional over wizard's petasos)
5. Diamond Ring x2: 100k each
6. Phantom Tathlum: 200k (however, if you have friends, this can easily be farmed from the nm Phantom Worm in Kuftal Tunnel)
7. Mahatma Slops: 250k
8. Prism Cape: 300k
9. Demon Helm +1: 300k (optional over wizard's petasos)
10. Enfeebling Torque: 500k (Also drops from the OWNM in Valley of Sorrows)
11. Dark Torque: 700k (Drops from Oldton Movalpolos OWNM)

Dynamis

Dynamis takes place in an alternate reality where the shadow lord reigns absolute and the beastmen have dominance over the cities. In order to enter dynamis, you need to be rank6+ in your city missions. Upon rank6, you must visit Xarcabard for a cs, then visit one of the goblins in the beastmen cities(? dont remember if this is needed). You then must visit one of the starter cities and look for the "Trail Markings". Trade 50k to the marking (this gil is not lost this time) for a cs, and you can now enter dynamis. Each roz dynamis zone (bastok, sandy, windy, jeuno, beaucedine, and xarcabard) has a 50k gil per person entry fee. When entering dynamis, do not esc out of the prompted menu as you will lose your gil and have to trade another 50k to it. Choose the very top option "Ready!" for all zones.

Nothing really resists in dynamis except for demons in dynamis-xarcabard and maybe hydra in beaucedine/tavnazia). So you're nuking set will be full out int as shown in the above post.

Dynamis drops the relic armor set, as well as ancient currency used to obtain relic weapons and relic armor +1. BLM relic armor drops from the specific zones as follows:

Dynamis-Jeuno: Feet: Lv71 Sorcerer's Sabots: +2 INT: If you are taru, these will probably be your first and last int feet slot.
Dynamis-Windurst: Hands: Lv72 Sorcerer's Gloves: +10 dark magic skill: Macro these in for drain/aspir/stun. They are also technically the best gloves for magic bursting, but it's a pain is macro them in. I'm thinking of a way to combine one of my already made macros to swap into a magic burst set when applicable.
Dynamis-Bastok: Legs: Lv73 Sorcerer's Tonban: +3 INT +5% damage to spells based on elemental day: On the respective elemental day, these are the best nuking pants. Unfortunately you mostly only nuke ice/thunder, so you rarely get a chance to use them.
Dynamis-Beaucedine: Body: Lv74 Sorcerer's Coat: 1/refresh: This takes the place of black cloak/vermillion cloak and looks snazzy paired with a demon helm.
Dynamis-Xarcabard: Head: Lv75 Sorcerer's Petasos: +10 elemental magic skill: gg hat used when nuking puddings in toau, or any HNM.

Once you beat cop 3-5 you are eligible to do cop dynamis zones (valkurm, buburimu, qufim). You are first required to have entered a city dynamis zone prior to entering a cop zone.

CoP dynamis zones drop relic accessories as well as the original relic armor and relic armor -1 which is used to upgrade to the relic armor +1. The most useful +1 relic armor for BLM are feet, and hands. Everything else only adds +mp and -1 enmity.

Dynamis-Buburimu/Valkurm: Belt: Lv70 Sorcerer's Belt: +6 INT: New best nuking belt!
Dynamis-Valkurm: Sorcerer's Petasos -1, Beastmen also drop Sorcerer's Sabots
Dynamis-Buburimu: Sorcerer's Gloves -1, Beastmen also drop Sorcerer's Gloves
Dynamis-Qufim: Sorcerer's Sabots -1, Beastmen also drop Sorcerer's Tonban
Dynamis-Tavnazia: Drops Sorcerer's Coat, Sorcerer's Petasos, Sorcerer's Coat -1, Sorcerer's Tonban -1.

The tl;dr take away from Dynamis are the following upgrades:
Belt: Arachne Obi -> Sorcerer's Belt (+4 more INT)
Boots (taru): Wizard's Sabots-> Sorcerer's Sabots(+1) (+2-3 more INT)
Gloves: Errant Cuffs -> Sorcerer's Gloves(+1) on dark magic (+10-12 more dark magic skill)
Sorcerer's Petasos is used when nuking high resist bosses (HNM etc), or if you are a galka/elvaan, then you actually should probably full-time this hat for nukes due to your lower INT.

Sky

Good old sky! The floating ruins above Ro'Maeve where the Zilart planned to open the Gate of the Gods and usher Vana'diel into a new age of paradise.

This zone is accessible once you complete zilart mission (ZM)13. In the gardens of Ru'Aun lie the sleeping gods of Chinese mythology represented by their cardinal directions and elements. They are:

to the north, the Black Turtle, Genbu (玄武);
to the east, the Azure Dragon, Seiryuu (青龍);
to the south, the Vermilion Bird, Suzaku (朱雀);
to the west, the White Tiger, Byakko (白虎);

and culminating with the mythical beast, Kirin (麒麟).

Each god is popped with the respective "season" stone and the "directional" gem; i.e. Genbu is popped with the Winterstone and Gem of the North. All of these as well as where to find them can be found on https://www.bg-wiki.com/

Kirin is popped with the 4 seals dropped by each of the other gods.

As a BLM, there are a few pieces of useful gear from here. Namely, the aquarian abjuration set. The head is dropped from Byakko, the hands from Genbu, and the legs from Suzaku/Sieryu. The hands have an immediate use. On anything that doesn't resist, they offer the most most damage on nukes for the hand slot.

The head and legs are not a priority to uncurse, they are only used for easy triggering of the Sorcerer's Ring latent effect.

Gods are similar to HNM in resists on nasomi. Wear your full elemental magic skill set. When fighting Kirin, it is imperative to nuke wind, for this reason alone, it is recommended to unlock Tornado II via merit points.

Swap to the following when nuking gods if you have access:

Head: Sorcerer's Petasos
Neck: Elemental Torque
Hands: Wizard's Gloves(+1)
Feet: Nashira Crackows
Back: Merciful Cape

HNM/Kings

HNM or sometimes called Kings, are 21-24hour timed-spawn NMs (3-5 days in case of CoP Wyrms). 21-24hour NMs have a chance to pop hq kings after 3 days of nq. They are as follows:

Valley of Sorrows: Adamantoise/Aspidochelone
Behemoth's Dominion: Behemoth/King Behemoth
Dragon's Aery: Fafnir/Nidhogg

Adamantoise/Behemoth are scrubs and can be full-nuked in an INT set, the rest however, resist, a lot. You need to wear full +elemental skill gear to land your nukes.

Swap to the following when nuking if you have access:

Head: Sorcerer's Petasos
Neck: Elemental Torque
Hands: Wizard's Gloves(+1)
Feet: Nashira Crackows
Back: Merciful Cape

Traditionally, on turtle and behemoth, you nuke ice, and on fafhogg, you nuke thunder. In the unlikely event you fight Tiamat or Jormungandr, nuke water on Tiamat and fire on Jormungandr.It is yet unverified if HNM have elemental resist on nasomi.

Limbus

Limbus is accessible once you have completed promathia mission (PM)7-5. To enter, you must first purchase a temporary key item, "Cosmo-Cleanse" from Sagheera in Port Jeuno. Once acquired, your party with teleport to one of the three craigs and enter the dimensional portal around the back. There, you will kill an Aw'euvhi and to get a colored card depending on which zone you will be entering. Your party/linkshell leader will lead you to the zoneline for either Apollyon or Temenos (depending on where you initially teleported). There he/she will combine to the two key items to open one of the chambers. Apollyon/Temenos are kind of a battle-field type maze where you ultimately fight against Omega (via Apollyon) or Ultima (via Temenos). For more information, you can read https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Category:Limbus

The takeaway from this event is two fold. One, certain floors in each zone will drop items that you use to upgrade your original artifact armor into a +1 version. Each piece of gear takes an item from both Apollyon and Temenos (the item for black mage is Diabolic Yarn in Apollyon, and Diabolic Silk in Temenos). When you have one of each, you take those plus a certain amount of ancient beastcoins (which also drop in the zones) + original piece of gear + a crafted item to Sagheera and she will upgrade them! For more information, visit https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Category:Art ... Black_Mage:

Two, is the Nashira set from Ultima. Ultima will drop pieces of her body which you then turn to an npc in Mhuara for the respective gear.

Ultima is probably resistant on nasomi, it is a good idea to swap to your elemental gear set. The trash in Apollyon/Temenos shouldn't resist, but if you find yourself being resisted, of course swap into your ele skill gear.

The best pieces of BLM af to upgrade are the body, the hands, and the legs/hat. The body is the most important, then the hands, and finally the hat/legs are optional. The best pieces of the Nashira set are in order the feet, the body, the head, and the hands.

tl;dr gear upgrades:

HNM/God full elemental set:
Hands: Wizard's Gloves -> Wizard's Gloves +1
Feet: RSE/Sorcerer's Sabots(+1) -> Nashira Crackows

Enfeebling gear set:
Body: Wizard's Coat -> Wizard's Coat +1
Hands: Errant Cuffs -> Nashira Gages

Dark gear set:
Head: Demon Helm/-- -> Nashira Turban
Body: Errant Hpl./Vermillion Cloak -> Nashira Manteel

Optional sidegrades:
(when lacking Sorcerer's Petasos) Head: Demon Helm -> Wizard's Petasos +1

Very cool and well laid out. Would love to see this format continued for other jobs.

I think a resting (hMP) set would add some value to this.

Also, INT for head/body (Demon/Errant) in your Dark set?

Otherwise, nice work.

Haven't finished yet. Straight off 75 starting endgame theres no dark magic skill/haste body/head. Int will at least add some macc.

Heya Cil,

a nice guide with usefull sets so far!

I'd like to add a neck piece here for your nuke gear set if you don't mind - the Uggalepih Pendant is a nice dmg boost.
Another set could/should cover Sorcerer's Ring maybe? ;)

Hyperion~
