Per the wiki, oldest history, 2005. http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Bounding_Boots?oldid=19570 And http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ochimusha_Kote?direction=next&oldid=204040. So both items started as Rare/EX, and were Rare/EX in ToAU era. Strange. |

Yeah it does seem backwards. I don't understand the purpose of making the BCNM drops Rare/Ex. Do Petrifying Pair once, get Bounding Boots. Then either never do it again, or let them rot on subsequent runs. |

Id assume its just an oversight on the bcnms dropping rare/ex, because originally on nasomi the NMs dropped the rare/ex also (I have the rare/ex boots, kotes and peacock amulet for example) then was changed to be more era, and my guess would be the bcnm drops just werent thought of when the NMs were changed? Or maybe they were and got reverted when the new BCNM patch went live? |

I kind of wish he'd revert it so NMs drop Rare/EX and BCNMs/OWNMs drop tradeable just to put more focus on group play, and away from solo camping. |

The BCNM drops should be no EX. Really no reason to have it that way. I really don't think reverting the NM drops R/EX is necessary. This way you can have the option of camping all day or just doing the BCNM. Though I can see your point. |

I can confirm that Leaping lizzy used to drop "non" rare/ex version back in 2003/2004 on server kujata, it was first time that my gil hit 100k mark. Same goes to Valkurm Emperor .. SE changed them into ex/rare after some yrs. |

If I’m not mistaken, early on there wasn’t such a thing as a ra/ex version and a non-ra/ex version. You could either get the item from the NM or the BCNM and that was it. That might be something to consider... although it would certainly flood the server with these sought after items. |
