What are you’re thoughts on subbing RDM instead of WHM? I hate the fact I would have to party to get WHM up. RDM I could solo up as far as I needed to go. I suck as a healer. |

It has some perks as you get enspells, retain sneak and Invis etc. |

almost strictly inferior to /whm. You could level it as WHM/BST and get in there with a hammer. |

The only time I think RDM is better than WHM would be for the very short window of DIA II RDM Get it from 31 and WHM Get it at 36. So from from 62-72 range. RDM is not utter garbage because the extra defense reduction is nice. But then after level 72 WHM becomes better again, so not really sure if you would want to level RDM purely for a range of 10 levels that doesn't have BCNMs in that range. For me, the two main downsides are No Raise/Reraise and no Cure Poison Spells. The auto regen is also nice, but not really needed if you have a Gaudy Harness for Refresh. |

I can tell you I've leveled both whm and rdm for the sake of solo subjobs, but for drg. Pros for rdm: en- spells. Also, if you're looking to be able to debuff, you'll be better at it with /rdm. I use /rdm when I'm soloing bones in gustav (not the top tier bones, next ones down) and I can usually land silence given the right gear set. That being said, if you're looking to kill mobs in the T/VT range, neither sub will be able to land debuffs very reliably. Cons: As said before, no -na spells, no reraise, weaker cures. It all adds up to the fact that for a very specific range and class of mobs, /rdm can be useful. But the other 95% of the time, just sub whm. |
