This is something that has gone under the radar for quite some time because we can all say we’ve benefited from BST having a very strong position on Nasomi. With the increase of players in playing the past month, it’s time to take a look at how ridiculously broken this job is.


Merits: 5/5 beast affinity allows you to have a level 85 Courier Carrie. Retail maxed out at 75. There’s a reason you rarely see bsts utilize anything but CC outside of TOAU.


Job Abilities: Reward recast time is half that of retail.


My knowledge outside of this is limited, but if anyone has more info, please add.

Familiar needs to either be fixed or it needs to be disabled, been saying it since the day I started.

Jug pets infinitely scale with Familiar. Repeated use stacks the stat bonuses.

Jug pets should have a duration before they automatically disappear. They last forever on Nasomi, which is why point #1 is a problem. For example, CourierCarrie should automatically *disappear* after 30 minutes and make you summon a new one.

Reward gives an insane amount of enmity to your pet. The threat it gives is similar to a PLD casting a 400 HP Cure IV in +Enmity gear. It isn't supposed to.

edit: Lets not get into charming level 99 ToAU mobs and using Dawn Mulsums/Reward spamming to solo ZNMs/other ToAU NMs with Familiared pets.

Granted KV is a joke on this server, I found it funny that while watching an endgame shell fight it earlier. There was a fully geared PLD in the same group just watching from the sidelines while Carrie face tanked it NP while the Smn's Garudas just pounded away on it. This was how this NM was meant to be fought!

i'm excited to see what the bst community would think of a change like this, or the blu community since bst is the only job that can succesfully help blu learn spells. If this nerf takes place perhaps we will finally see toau mobs at correct level and get some more exp camps to boot.

Dont laugh ok, Q&A is soon, i expect big news about Aht urghan! Also not to mention, if you're relatively new to the server or levelling something 50~70ish you'll probably find yourself stuck in some endless loop of having nowhere to camp or fighting bsts for monsters camping on you. So i think both these things really go hand in hand :cry:

You could charm 99s in retail and familiar them for a longer timer. That's not out of era.
