Post subject:  Best leveling route to BRD?
Hello

I'm hoping to go BRD main and wondered what the best leveling route is to get there? I know it will need WHM sub (and eventually NIN). So the shortest route would be:

- BLM to 18
- WHM to 30
- Unlock BRD
- WHM to 37
- BRD to 75

However I know mages are expensive to level due to scroll costs, so I've taken WAR to 18 to unlock subjob. I'm thinking it might be easier to do:

- WAR to 18
- THF to 18
- WAR to 30
- Unlock BRD
- BLM to 18
- WHM to 37
- BRD to 75

With Treasure Hunter unlocked I can make a bit of gil, but this will take a considerably longer time.

So the question is, is it worth me just going straight to WHM/BLM and not bothering with WAR/THF? Just trying to gauge what is/isn't feasible based on other players' experience. Any advice is much appreciated.

Just fyi, but once you get elegy you'll be expected to pull /nin.

Thanks for the advice. I guess leveling WAR was handy for leveling NIN in the future then.

Leveling BLM and WHM now in preparation for BRD. :)

If you need to trim some spells off the budget until you can afford them, I would consider these mandatory for low level exp: cures, -na status cures, protectras, shellras, enfeebles. Stuff you could skip for now: Banishes, diaga, aquaveil, barspells

This is just off the top of my head. As soon as you can afford it, get all your spells.

Also, brd itself is SO cheap to play. I spend more money on shihei that I do on anything specifically brd related. The songs are either cheap as all getout or drop from mobs like crazy (minus ballad 2). The gear isn't much worse. So don't worry much about holding gil in reserve for brd.

NIN > 37

Once you hit lvl 24 BRD, sub /12NIN until 75.

You can level NIN if you feel like it.... there's just nothing it adds until 74.
