I'm thinking of taking BRD to 75 first. Would I need to level my NIN? I don't want to level NIN right now if I don't have to for so parties. Is /whm ok to 75 or will people be rolling their eyes?

You'll be expected to pull once you get Elegy. /WHM is fine but /NIN is preferred.

What changes when you get elegy that makes you a better puller?

I hope you're joking. If serious, Elegy doesn't have the small delay from moving at the end of your spellcast, allowing you to pull from 20.0 and move immediately when it's done means you shouldn't get hit on most pulls.

Elegy is also a very powerful slow. Always nice when the enemy is swinging at you slower when pulling/fighting

Just level /NIN. You can do /WHM, because you're BRD and you could honestly get to 75 without having a subjob unlocked and still not really experience a downturn in invites..

/NIN blows /WHM out though once you have elegy.

I completely understand the utility of /nin. I had a 75brd and nin back on retail. It's just NIN will end up being one of my main jobs and I don't want to level a gimp one to 37. When I finally dedicate myself to NIN, I want to have really good gear

I'd rather level a gimp NIN to 37 than a gimp BRD to 75.
