Post subject:  Testing Blade:Jin With Various Katana Combos

Was curious how different katanas would effect Blade:Jin damage and decided I was bored enough to go try some out. I wanted to test on IT level mobs, so I grabbed a pen and paper and headed over to Gustav Tunnel and wrote down every ws over about 4 hours, trying out 4 different setups for about 1hr each. Alas, a damage parser would have made things much easier and could have accounted for auto-attack damage, but I was mostly interested in ws damage anyway.

NIN/THF w/ Sole Sushi (didn't want double-attacks or berserk/warcry as variables)
Target mob: Pygmytoise

WS Gear Daytime:

Voyager Sallet
Breeze Gorget
Merman's Earring (No Brutal Earring, didn't want double-attack variable)
Fenrir's Earring
Haubergeon +1
Ochiudo's Kote
Rajas Ring
Flame Ring
Cerberus Mantle
Swordbelt +1
Byakko's Haidate

WS Gear Nightime:

Hands and feet to Koga Tekko, Koga Kyahan +1, and Fenrir's Earring to another Merman's.

Daytime Average: 425 (35 total ws)
Nighttime Average: 452 (40 total ws)
High: 805
Low: 219
Average Overall: 440 (75 total ws)


Senjuinrikio/Unsho


Daytime Average: 441 (38 total ws)
Nighttime Average: 469 (36 total ws)
High: 716
Low: 202
Average Overall: 455 (74 total ws)

Senjuinrikio/Fudo

Daytime Average: 446 (37 total ws)
Nighttime Average: 468 (38 total ws)
High: 832
Low: 159
Average Overall: 457 (75 total ws)

Fudo/Senjuinrikio

Daytime Average: 460 (45 total ws)
Nighttime Average: 475 (34 total ws)
High: 819
Low: 160
Average Overall: 466 (79 total ws)

Anyway, these are just preliminary tests with under 100 ws each combo, so don't take them as gospel or anything lol. Still, it does look a lot like the +crit rate on the senju and fudo aren't limited to the hand in which they're equipped like believed in retail. They appear to apply to overall crit rate on here, which would let you get away with off-handing the sejnu and main-handing a higher base damage katana.

100%. You can also see this on things like Enhancing sword - on retail offhanding it would not increase your enspell damage on your main hand, but it increases both on here.

Actually it would. It just wouldn't increase your offhand enspell damage if you had it in your main hand.
