What is the merit priority for summoner?

Should I be getting the merit abilities first or go for the avatar physical accuracy?

i will piggyback on this thread with you

from what i recall the merit abilities are not as valuable on here as they were on retail because reasons, i'm not 100% sure why but i think i read that somewhere they are not really worth it compared to the last tier pacts you get (especially since you can only 5/5 two)

my plan is to max summoning magic first just because that outright influences everything so much, then probably do phys atk and mag atk since i feel like you should be able to make up the acc difference with the insane glut of +summoning magic gear that exists and daifukus/akamochi

hopefully someone comes in and says what's actually good because i'm not actually a SMN but i will be leveling it soon and i would like to know what merits are good as well

In its current state on Nasomi, SMN’s summoning skill has zero impact on Blood Pacts, so not worth meriting the skill imo. To be fair, it will help prevent spell interruptions if you get hit while casting....but the buck stops there. It SHOULD impact BP Ward durations and Rage Acc’s if over the cap, but it doesn’t. Should affect spirits...except spirits don’t work (except for NPCs).

Avatar P.Attk & P.Acc are the best bet most likely. The merit BPs are still trash in comparison to the 70 pacts...3/5 into windblade and even with tp, it just doesn’t compare to PC or even Aero IV for the mp cost(had 3/5 into m.atk and 2/5 in m.acc for shits and gig’s and saw minuscule gains: average wind blade with 150tp=600-900 Aero IV=550-700, so reallocated back into physical merits again)

If by chance Nas ever does fix summoner, summoning skill will hopefully play a bigger role and be worth meriting. As it stands, spirits don’t work, BP wards are static and even subbing /smn will net you the same dmg/durations on said BP’s eg. /smn rolling thunders hitting as hard with same duration as a 75 smn. The addition of spirits that actually WORK would be a great and fun addition to the smn bag of tricks, and if nothing else, be a refreshing change from the same old song and dance.

Thank you for your reply. This seems to be the consensus. Only thing to worry about is the atk and acc.
