Post subject:  Question about ALTS

Hello,

I want to make an ALT that I can powerlevlel myself with. So couple of questions.

1) Do I make the ALT on the same account, and log into both main and ALT? Or do i make a second account and open up two seperate Ashitas?

2) I hear PLs talk about setting macros. Does that mean they set a macro to heal each character in the opposing party or something else?

Thanks~ Sorry for the noob questions, just wanna do things right way and add more PLs :)

Afaik, you cant make 2 characters on one account anymore. Regardless, if you want to dualbox and PL yourself, you need to make it on a seperate account, and link it to your forum account. Doesnt matter which one is main or alt, only matters which on is mule(restricted to level 10).

As for macros, you would make 6 macros using something like control 1-6 or alt 1-6. I order them based on my party window, and theyre simply /target name, followed by /ma "Cure" II <t>. Then you can quickly see which party member is missing health with your character in the party, the order theyre in, and 1 click macro to heal them. People will often die if you are not fast enough.

I'd add that there is a slightly more efficient way to macro cures for PLing, what I do is skip the /target and just macro the person into the cure directly.

Ex: /ma "Cure II" Zaeon

It's slightly faster and simplifies your macros a little.

Also avoids issues with gear swaps.
I Ctrl+1-6 /ma Cure PlaynerName
I Alt+1-6 /ma Protect PlayerName

If a camp requires it, I add shell to the alt macros. - All spells at an appropriate tier.

Yeah, should have definitely thought of that, as I often type exactly that in to cure hard to target people in an alliance. That's awesome, thanks.

what i also do is rearrange the party list so that the tank/dd are on top of the party list and set my macros accordingly with the party list

Same goes for if you end up breaking party for sync reasons or invite others, you can rearrange the party to match whatever the existing PL macros are set to instead of retyping the PL macros.
