Soboro isn't incredibly useful on Nasomi- it's more of a fun toy than a GK you would use for meaningful content. It's also a little rough to use in certain xp camps due to TP feed. However, it's still fun to own and play around with and the NM that drops it can be easily duo'd with a RDM and NIN because it doesn't self-destruct. Good Luck!

I mean, it's literally a joke to obtain compared to retail and yet I never see anyone using it, even in xp. Is this just a really well-kept secret? The one time I saw a SAM break it out in an xp party the party leader asked him to please stop because the mob wasn't dying any faster but the mob's TP spam was noticeable higher. Under what meaningful conditions would it be superior to using a decent single hit GK or a Polearm?

Under the effect of Rolling Thunder?

Looks like NIN can solo it. Definitely worth bringing a THF and healer though, if you're actually after the drop. :)

But when? Almost all the popular XP camps 50+ you use a Polearm and Penta spam until Dvucca and Rolling Thunder is hot garbage against the Lamia Idolators. Once you hit 75 you aren't using it because it's outclassed by relatively cheap (Shinsoku) or free (Ushikirimaru) single hit GK's. I'm not trying to be shitty here I'm just saying it really isn't that useful more so because of Penta Thrust and ToAU camps than anything else. It's fine to want it- it's a fun toy- but it's actual productive uses are limited.
