This is the first weekend since Classic WOW was released so of course population is way down. My first thought is that more NM should be available to camp which sounds nice. Are there other positives or things you are looking forward to with a lower population? Or is lower Pop. all bad

Isn't it labor day weekend?

Maybe people are just out of town for labor day that's true. Constant disconnects also would lead a lot of people to just call it quits for the day and make it look like really low population for those days. Maybe Classic WoW will barely affect us.

Maybe there is no war in Ba Sing Se.

At the very least for sure nobody wants to talk about the positives of a lower population server. Boring topic I guess lol

Because there aren't that many? Oh you'll have less competition for NMs/crafts? Cool, less people buying those items.

Edit: Plenty of "low pop" servers around if that's your thing.

Nasomi is my thing now. Aside from a legit Classic Server re-release I don't think I could start over.

Damn. Then I guess if the population drops it just makes the server worse. Unfortunate. Hopefully it is not dropping

In the early days of this server gil was practically useless. Didn't matter how much you had, if nothing you wanted was ever for sell. AH stock is worth more than chasing gil. I don't think we're in danger of never having melon pies or meat kabobs for sell anymore, but there will be other things that become more and more rare, to the point you will spend less time farming the mats and tipping 10% to a crafter, than waiting for them to come on the market. Then again I doubt the people with a choke hold on key synths are going to leave anytime soon. I think we'll be ok, just may have to learn the path for exping in smaller groups. You'll definitely see why PLs got so popular, it is, afterall, a community game. When there's no community, the nature of the game changes.

The Population goes up, people gripe. The population goes down, people gripe. While the server is in a bit of flux right now, the important part is "the server is." I won't be complaining about population until "the server isn't." When I first became emotionally dependent on this game, the population maybe peaked out at 100 players. I think we'll be alright.

It will definitely impact the server but for a short while. I know a lot of people are rushing to be 'raid' ready, and will then raid once a week on a static schedule or something like that, and continue to play FFXI. I can also picture people dual boxing WoW and FFXI :)

Also, people have invested a lot of time in FFXI and are passionate about the game, so I am sure that people will want to keep up with farming, end game events, crafting, etc. Nas is a great community.
