Could be another one of those weird calcs like haste that doesn't actually use a flat percentage value but instead a fraction that calculates weird and winds up dropping an extra point or so from flooring values. Who knows... formulas in general were always a bit wonky like that. |

Did you cap skill before merits? A bug was uncovered by erm, central? That if your automaton skill isn't capped first adding merits before they're capped is buggy values. |

The problem is you have attachments equipped, specifically, you have both Armor Plates equipped. Stormwaker has a base Defense of 212 at 75 and both Armor Plates together give +30% DEF which = 275. Optimization (and all % increases in general) only increases base amount. You should have 233 Defense at 2 merits and 296 with both Armor Plates which is exactly what the screenshot shows. |
