Post subject:  What is the point of Ranger?
I've never played one, so I'm just curious what their use it. Does it deal more DPS than a WAR or SAM? Does it deal more spike than a BLM? Is it more tanky than a PLD or NIN? It has to be one of these things or people wouldn't use it right?

Personally, I haven't seen one in my PTs since the nerf, but is it top tier in some sort of content somewhere?

It can do well against Jailer of Love
It's fine vs. OWNMs
It's okay vs. King Behemoth

It can still do respectable damage but nothing compared to how it was before.

Finding that "sweet spot" isn't that hard, however, keeping it without pulling hate is another question that does vary between players.

Holding back does lower your overall damage. Getting hate is easy, especially with a sub par Paladin which quickly becomes a cluster as the mob -- which in turn, makes everyone in the party "chase" the mob. I've only seen one or two Paladin use cover effectively.

Using gun/bullets does make it easier to control hate as the long delay between each shot helps, but it's not only expensive, people would argue that the damage over time is significantly lower than archery.

The widescan is cool for camping cactrot and it has some great and helpful use as a dual boxed job for inside sea farming. My annihilator, unfortunately, is dusty as fuck.

a simple solution is to invite higher DPS and u can just sit back at sweet spot and fire

Strongest physical damage, big ass damage with delay, in other words barrage. but its not like that in nasomi just like how broken enmity decay is.

I thought SAM was the DPS king. At least from the PTs I've been in. RNG > SAM?

Previously they were on the same level. Now SAM puts RNG in a body bag.
