which is better Great axe vs polearm

Post subject:  which is better Great axe vs polearm
Always been curious if there was somebody who was able to truly know which weapon is better to use. Level 63-67 sync whether it be mount z flies an crawlers or in the mire tunnel camp.
I mean its basically Demon axe vs couse+1 at that lvl
I will never understand this game and its rng. Like wtf when u can raging rush for 1600 on a crawler and then do 159 on the next one. Also Thnk ive missed completely twice with brd acc an aggressor on.
I just don't see how you can honestly tell which would be better with the numbers being all over the place. Eye test you would think the the Demon axe stats+ the 16 combat skill GA gets over the polearm, would be better than the couse+1. Yet some ppl say do polearm

If u got polearm merits polearm will win, if not then great axe will win. Acc is your most important stat for exp dmg 60+. Once you pass the level 55 mark sushi overpowers pizza for accuracy, and the need for accuracy is exponentially higher for multi hit ws's. It's even more difficult if you're stripping accuracy for str/atk to boost ws modifiers. There's usually a re-gearing period around 60 where you'll need to reinvent your min/max for ws's. I've seen both versions of warrior do well, but polearm has always beat greataxe when it's merited in my experience, and great axe has always beat polearm without merits in my experience. When both have been merited polearm will still require substantial accuracy, and great axe will allow for a but more str/atk in ur min/max, which does just enough to bridge the 20% bonus to dmg polearm gets, putting them back on par with each other. If only great axe is merited it becomes the clear winner. In my opinion anyways.

I'm now 75 with 8/8 Polearm and 8/8 gaxe. When I was syncing 65 at the Fly/Bomb camp, I used couse+1 because I wasn't yet 8/8 gaxe. The polearm was better but didn't hurt xp per hour. Once I was 8/8 gaxe, then always gaxe even though Flies are weak to piercing. Note: you also fight bombs so that has to be taken into consideration.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't hurt xp per hour regardless of merits. For example, we even tried switching between Hauby and Byrnie on War job and didn't notice a difference, and again, it did not affect xp per hour. As long as you can weapon skill each fight, that's all that really matters with good gear and food.

XP sessions are perhaps 3 hours on average so it really doesn't matter.

I'm all about pizza +1 brahs! ACCR + ATK {Yes, please}. I'll use Aka+1 on my DRG for increased pet dmg/accr however.

Does this hold up in the mire? Penta Thrust damage really falls off there. Even on my DRG with acc passive merits and ~50 or so acc from gear, my best penta could not compare to an okay geared gaxe war. Note this is on my drg, not on war, since your original question was about demon axe vs couse +1 on war. I went demon's axe when I went through with my war and never had a problem.

Vs Lamia you want that juicy Wheeling Thrust if drg :) Penta still works but depends on your char, setup, merits, etc.

Besides what every is talking about with merits and accuracy, which is true, the variation on raging rush also comes with critical hit rate.
