Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help clear up some questions I have concerning claiming: 1. Why is it that when something pops and I spam a ‘/targetnpc provoke’ macro on it, occasionally it fails to function (despite several attempts) and I will have to use my ‘provoke stnpc’ macro instead? 2. Is there such a thing as spamming your claim macro too early? 3. Why have people I’ve been competing against been favoring jump for claiming? Is it faster than provoke? I had read that all job abilitys claim at the same speed but further confirmation would be nice. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out. Any other claim pointers are appreciated as I’m somewhat new to the game. |

1st thing first , Nasomi recently introduced a claim shield , it should mean that for X seconds after spawn the mob can’t be claimed ( that’s why spamming your macro/Ja locks you out for claiming) however hos claim shield is broken and you can still instaclaim with magics. About jump vs provoke they are the same but jump has a bigger range (yalms) |

PasqualeOmega wrote: you can still instaclaim with magics. In my experience, magic can definitely still get locked out, especially (but not only) chainspell casts. Although it might be true that magic are less likely to get locked out or some other nuance. |

I assumed I was lagging out the game by spamming too hard and as a result my provoke wasn’t going through. When I waited a fraction of a second after pop and then used the macro it almost always worked. |

From what I've seen/have heard, claim shield is not active on mobs that can spawn auto-claimed. I'm not 100% sure on that though. |
