Nasomi Community FFXI Server

Nasomi has said that he does not want mules camped out because doing so would open the door for using them to see ToDs. There may be other reasons, but as a practical matter, he can't tell between fisher mules in the field and mules looking for NMs.

I am pretty sure you can level all the way to 100 in cities and on boats, but a lot of the money locations are out. Try researching these fish (I haven't verified--just pulled from memory and a list): jellyfish (5), crayfish (7), sardine (9), moat carp (11), greedie (14), frog (16), globe (17), quus (19), neb (27), tri carp (27), pipira (29), cod (29), catfish (31), dark bass (33), herring (39), butterfly (40), tuna (41), z bass (43), istakoz (46), black eel (47), calamary (48), sandfish (50), donko (50), istiridye (53), bluetail (55), gold carp (56), marlin (61), lady (66), kayabaligi (75), silver shark (76), bream (86), ahtapot (90), is sole catchable in jeuno? (96), zombie (101), titanictus (101), kalkanbaligi (105), mola (110+), gugrusaurus (110+), ryugu titan (110)

There's probably a bunch of other ToAU fish that fits in this list, but I didn't put it in because there are pre-ToAU fish equivalents within reach of our mules and I'm less certain of them. I also ignored the manaclipper; isn't that still messed up?

Good luck. Unfortunately, swapping your alt and mule is probably out of the question once you have established a craft or job on either character.

Is it OK to level fishing on my mule? Or can I move my alt to mule status?

It's a bit of a logistical problem though since mules are only supposed to be in cities or in transit between cities. There's alot of out-in-the-world fishing you'll need to do to level properly.

Yup it would be challenging, but I bet it's possible. You wouldn't be able to fish NMs with your mule obviously, and I would worry about whether Nas would interpret boat fishing as a problem even though you are transiting between towns while doing so. Yes, you can catch sole in Jeuno. Yes, at least as of yesterday the manaclipper was acting unusually funky (read: more funk than the normal level of funk). And ya, as you say the legality of fishing the manaclipper would be questionable. Good call leaving that out. Even without boats you could probably get to 96 tho. It'd be a real pain but I'd like to see it tried.

I take that back. You can catch pterygotus in Nashmau, so 99 might be achievable.

it is possible to get 100 fishing on a mule, a friend and myself tracked it all down a while ago b/c we were wondering the same thing, honestly i can't recall the route, but it is possible

Mules are allowed in boat zones specifically for the purpose of transiting to another town zone. Nas stated that in a stream. I worry that he wouldn't like you going back and forth on the boat for the purpose of fishing. Me, I wouldn't push my luck.
