Well... rdm/nin is effective, but fun? Not for me. But I'm weird. Drg/blu or /whm is actual fun I think. |

Fun is subjective...that's up to you man. I know some who absolutely loathe RDM, others hate DRG, others hate NIN, others would never touch BST...etc. What is fun to YOU? Hell even PUP can solo a decent amount....and solo what? farm mobs? Sky? HNM? Limbus? Are you poor or are you ok dropping lots of money for the solo job? Need more parameters my good man. |

I played BST/DRG/BLM/SMN all in retail that I would consider solo~ish jobs. Then later when /dnc ruined everything NIN and THF could solo almost anything. BST by far was superior in what I could take down, as long as you had enough pets to throw at something and jugs to break gaps...then there isnt much you can't take on. DRG by far was my most fun solo job. It was limited on what you could take down...VT at 75 was my limit...Im sure others were better at it than I and could solo bigger foes. However, it was just fun to do for some reason. BLM could easily take down IT at 75 but there is a lot of down time. Against slimes...it was beautiful! SMN I didnt really solo much, did more duo/trio thing...so not much input to give. I never did RDM but wanted to. How was solo usually done on RDM? Is it more of a DOT type solo and just kite until it dies? |

If you want to see rdm solo just youtube ffxi avesta and watch all his videos, he did some amazing stuff. However nasomi is a bit different since most RDMs seem to have excal, that opens up a new type of solo. |

Awesome replies keep your perspectives coming! Sounds to me it is hard to go wrong with any choice - just find what you like / can afford edit: loving the BLM WHM combo at the moment to bind and rest to take down more difficult enemies without zoning. To me that make RDM or BLM required in one manner or the other. |

Rdm/nin/blm Drg/blu Nin/rdm/whm Blm/rdm Smn/nin Whm/nin & Pld/nin swapping to a staff for spirit taker to get mp back up Are all pretty good in my opinion :edit typo:@drg/blu |

i would agree with everyone on here, rdm/nin is probably the best pure solo job out there. but i will add one more thought. On nasomi we are allowed to have alts, while this isn't exactly "solo" anymore you still are doing stuff just by yourself and not having to look for parties or anything like that. So on that idea rdm+nin or rdm+thf is undoubted the best setups you can make. and yes i get its not solo, its technically duo, but you are doing by yourself. I know i've solo'd alot with my rdm+thf its quite fun and the ability to take on IT mobs is insane. |
