Post subject:  Farming Kindred Seals?
I've been trying to get 99 seals for an orb, but on average I get about 1 seal per hour, which is completely insane. There must be a better way. There are people in my linkshell with 4+ orbs, how?

What exactly makes them drop? I know mobs have to yield exp and be above level 50, but are there certain mobs that drop them more or less often?

Make sure you have signet on.
Target easy prey mobs for faster kills.
Treasure hunter helps.

There's a five minute lockout per seal per killer's party. If you're dual boxing set up an alliance and alternate which party lands the killing blow (or just don't party up). I don't think TH matters. On retail I experienced significantly higher drop rates killing shadow type mobs in fei yin. This may extend to fomor and kindred mobs as well. I do not know if that is emulated here or not.

Thanks for the replies so far, I'll go try Fei'Yin sometime. Are seals more or less likely to drop solo vs in a party?

I believe it is the same; however when one drops everyone in that party is locked out for 5 minutes, whereas solo only one person would receive the lockout. This lockout is entirely based on who lands the killing blow. This behavior is accurate to retail.

I've had pretty good luck getting seal drops while farming spooders around Whitegate, pretty sure they're EP(ish?) to 75, and you can blow through them pretty quickly on THF or SAM (and they drop webs very regularly, good for some extra money at the same time). Or, if you want some additional excitement, you can find some slightly-tougher mobs to solo/dualbox (like Marids) since you're stuck waiting 2.5 to 5 mins -ish between seal drops anyway (depending on whether you kill from one "party" in the ally or the other).

- Mob's must be higher than lvl 50
- Mob must be check higher than "Too Weak" (Easy Pray and above is OK)
- The drop rate is the same across all mob types (there is no advantageous mob type to grant better drops)
- TH does NOT help drop rate.
- Drop rate is a static 20%
- It's a 50:50 chance to get either beastman seal or kindred seal (if you pass the 20% check on a > lvl 50 mob)
- All characters within the party are locked out for 5 mins before being eligible for another Beastman Seal/Kindred Seal to drop (multiple attempts at the 20% until 1 finally drops into the loot pool)

NOTE: you can't get seals from a mob that has mob modifier expressing the mob is to drop nothing.

just wanna say th does affect seal drop
went from th3 to th4 couple weeks ago farming same mob seal drop more
