I was one of the first people to roll a character on this server but I haven't played seriously in a while due to many reasons. Bugs and missing content are big deterrents for me, but I have always respected Nasomi's vision of classic FFXI. I have a few questions about longstanding bugs and missing content that made it hard for me to play:

1) Do mobs still agro through walls?

2) I saw in another thread a list of working BCNMs. Is it true that only 4 work as intended? I saw a post that said Nasomi didn't want to focus on fixing them, but he was instead adding NMs to the world as rare spawns with their loot tables. Is that accurate?

3) They removed books and implemented level sync with a 20 level limit. I like this change, but I'm listing it for clarity of things that have changed.

4) Are missions functioning correctly? All factions? All the way through CoP?

5) I see fishing was implemented. Is it working well currently?

6) Looks like Pirates on Selbina <=> Mhaura boat are still missing. Anything else similarly missing?

7) Is the raft between major cities still around or are airships between Jeuno and 3 capitals working?

8) Are there any flagrant longstanding mechanical bugs?

9) Is it any easier to get on the server? Every time I get the itch I have to wipe some files and redownload a patch... it can be tedious.

I appreciate all the hard work put into the server and I like the direction. A few of these have made it difficult for me to get into the game (#1 especially). I'd just like to check in on the progress and see if some of the bigger bugs are fixed. Thank you!

I hate to bring this one up because it appears minor but absolutely drives me bonkers....."auto-HP". Sometimes, when you die, you return to your home point automatically rather than having the option of waiting for a raise or selecting to return to your home point. It may sound minor (and big picture it's not the end of the world) but this can actually ruin a dynamis run, etc. Similarly, though I don't really experience this any more, it is likely heart breaking for lower level players who travel far and wide to get to exp party camps without all the fast travel options like outpost warps. Nothing like running to Qufim to exp....then you die and then get auto HP'd back to Windurst (or even Jeuno).

The server is definately playable at its current state and I recommend you playing again!
But after a while you get to know all those cringeworthy bugs which amass to a mountain. Nothing gamebreaking but the sheer amount is what spoils the fun imo.
EG: auto-HP(like mentioned above), elevators trolling the shit out of you(metalworks, psoxja), CoP battlefields way to easy, no ENMs(and most BSNMs), aht urhgan content being abused, weaponskills not coded right(eg SAM), Mob behaviour wonky(eg TP moves), EXP calculation is bad, aht urhgan jobs are a mess(COR BLU PUP), merits, etc etc etc

Auto-HP is definitely an irritating bug. And while this bug is "rare" (supposedly 1/100), it can happen multiple times in a row. Sometimes it can completely ruin whatever you were doing. i.e. story missions, kings, sky gods, exping, etc.

It's also worth noting that while many missions/quests are functional, they aren't without issues. You may encounter missions/quests where you'll have to do them several times to complete them or just flat out get stuck with a broken quest flag and need to get it fixed by Nasomi. There are also multiple quests that flat out don't work here. I think Windurst is the only nation atm that you can't get rank 10, due to the final few missions being bugged/not working. So if rank 10 is something you want, I'd recommend Sandy or Bastok.

The airships between nations work here as well...but they can be a bit buggy sometimes. I've heard some people report falling off the docks where the airships board, falling off the airships mid flight, and getting stuck at the destination dock.

Windurst 9-2 is still broken, to my knowledge.
