I don't like the idea of bonus xp "weekends". It's going to over-crowd certain camps at certain times and negatively effect people's willingness to xp certain valuable synch jobs during non-bonus xp times. Bad bottle-neck is bad. This is precisely the opposite of the type of leveling and partying environment I thought we were trying to foster here. Selfishly, I'm a grown-a$$ man (36) with a real job (attorney), wife, kids (2x), etc., and I barely play on weekends. Generally speaking, I would guess that most of this server population is older gamers with similar levels of RL obligation. I would further hope that grown-ups recognize that weekends are times better spent with friends, family, outdoors, etc. not no-lifing it during bonus xp weekends. Maybe I'm just old and grumpy and jealous of people that are still able to go on gaming benders the way I did a decade ago. But I don't think bonus xp "weekends" are healthy in any sense of the word. I'm sure this dead horse has been beaten over the years, but bring back xp bands if you want to have ANY form of "bonus" xp in the game. If you really want to help out the players, give individuals the freedom to get that bonus xp when it serves them best. Any other system of "bonus" xp gives rise to concerns of fairness and ulterior motives. |

Event gear you can get from a quest. with say 20 50% xp charges, and thats that! (after chrages used up , toss the item in the bin) If we could get this, then we could decide when and where to use the bonus xp given.. And this is not the standard Xp rings, keep them disabled as is. Just a tip (would be awesome to comine this with say Xmas coming? ), I agree with OP here. Myself 35 year old with 2 kids full time job ( configurator/coding ). Some weekends i get to do a bender, and grind xp in weekends. But mostly they are used for trips to cabin and relaxing with family. |

This essentially does not impact my play time at all but I agree that if bonus systems are to be implemented, they should be implemented so they can be used by each player when it best suits them. |

I don't think we need bonus exp. We already have new players with gil shortages pushing to levels they can't fully gear. If the drive to 75 is longer, then crafters can profit off mid level gear. For this to work though prices may need to normalize more. I know my gil is almost always low, and I usually have to decide between a spell or an item. At least now you cant go 13-75 in the dunes, so you'll need some mid level camp gear. |

Either way , we get what we get  Just like with women (and apparantly the code in ffxi, ref mIRC yesterday hehehe). (something not right with xp rings, hence why cant do exp item as a bonus xp reward.) But you can never know. Christmas event is also coming up, mmmm excitment.. Have some extra vacay days this year.. |

I Like the idea of a bonus xp weekend. Could always alternate weekends with weekdays that might help the people tied up on weekends. |
