So i started the game today. First and formost, this server is great.

I wonder if anyone has a few pieces of advice for me

does the adventurer cupon do anything here?

one piece of advice i was given is 'BLM/--- to 10 smacking stuff with my staff is easy-peasy, should take an hour'
idk what im doing different, but after two hours of playing, i made it to lvl5. (i died a lot, lol) this isnt a complaint, im in no rush, and i really like that the game isnt easy.
one more hour saw WHM to lvl 5. WHM seems much easier solo, but thats likely also thanks to the evade skillups i got from BLM to 5. how does one solo BLM/---?

spells are expensive. so far ive bought water, cure, and dia (started with stone). ive only afforded them by selling every crystal and item the mandys, rabbits, and bees have been dropping. oh, and a shield, that was sort of expensive too. any starter pocketbook advice? not along the lines of 'go farm crawlers and giddus bees'. im not set up to farm yet. but little things like which spells and pieces of gear are most important? or is there an early quest or something to help get me started? When i joined the first time in WotG, there was an NPC with starting goals like 'unlock and use your first weapon skill', 'go here and see the AH and try a crafting recepie', 'go grab the tele crystal', etc. is that npc in era?

ok, ill quit rambling. any advice is appreciated ^^

Hoi, and welcome !

Advnt Coupon gives u 50 gil :D

All mobs have had levels increased recently, so this might be the case that ur only level 5.. Others must comfirm. Havent tested starter area since last update.

Dont buy spells on AH unless ur rich and want the spell ASAP. Search up the spell you want to buy on the wiki clopedia. And hunt down the npc that sells em.

To get started with money , start farming and check prices at a NPC, if the sell is more then AH , then NPC it. If not put it on AH(if it sells there, use the Auction House link above).

It takes time in the start, but you will get there. Also little tip, look up quest rewards, and start doing quests (for fame) for rewards you either use urself or sell on AH for profit.

And if you dont have it yet, shout for MogHouse LS pearl in any starter city. Server wide Linkshell.

thank you, i finally found the cardian to trade the cupon to! (didnt get the new char intro scene haha)
and i found the intro npc i was thinking of. i learned shes from 2008 and shes deactivated.

Yup this is as good as u get it for the 2005-2007 Exp.

Gotta build ur chr slowly up the hard hard way. But also the most rewarding way I've yet to see in any other game.

yes! im sure yall hear this comparison all the time, but thats what i feel XIV is lacking (the game i just left). XIV is a sprint to the endgame, and every three months they release new content that makes everything you did last month irrelevant. nothing feels rewarding in that type of game.

im so thrilled this server and this community is here.
anyway. thank you for the input. its reassurring to make sure i hadnt missed something
