| Post subject: | Excalipoor + Knights of Rotund 200 Families Guide/Discussion |
The basics: Festive Moogles are at Port Bastok (J-13), Port San d'Oria (J-10), and Windurst Walls (C-14). They will give you Excalipoor which allows you to use Knights of Rotund. The moogle asks you to use it on different monster families. You just have to use it on a monster of the family. It doesn't have to deal damage and you don't have to kill the monster, so you can warp out after hitting a high level monster. Reward for 100 families is Excalipoor II which is the same plus 1 damage, less 7 delay. Reward for 150 familes is Spelunker's Helm. Reward for 200 is all the items for Gobbie Bag Part X. I decided to make a post to share knowledge about the various monster families to see if 200 is feasible for an average level 75 player. I've gotten to 150 mostly solo, but it seems like a lot of help is needed to get to 200, involving end-game NMs that are highly contested, Dynamis, access to Sea/Sky, and repeating several missions. If anyone has found a family not on the list, or some other way to pump those numbers up, please share. Starting with Nasomi's posted list, I made some comments: Blue comments for families that are confirmed or highly likely to be possible. CureRabbit (Not sure what this is?) - pretty sure thats the white rabbit in uleg, the ice types count as another point, so rabbit, lizard in pso and raptor in uleg. I've been adding notes and new families to the bottom of the list as I hear about them. As for the CureRabbit, it seems to refer to CoP rabbits that use Wild Carrot, and the ones in Uleguerand Range have their own category: SnowRabbit I tried hitting an Assassin Fly in Mount Zhayolm for FlyDark but didn't get credit. It's possible I had hit one before though, I hadn't been keeping very close track and hitting multiple things in a run. FlyDark may only be the one from the BCNM, though I haven't tested that. The fact that the BigWorm was in a BCNM that I tested makes be believe that it's most likely BCNM30 Dropping Like Flies. |

cure rabbit might be the pet rabbits actually, getting mixed up lol flydark is 100% the BCNM one, could also be MZ ones? but i dont think so, but if murdock says there are, they might be! |

counted: goblin fisher, despot, faust, maltha, carby mitts nm -carby pet, dyna-qufim goblin leviathan, mimic bcnm50, nebiros, likely nebiros avatar did not: shikigami weapon(odd), gargoyle(might have got credit elsewhere), kindred summoned spirit, firedance magmal ja, assassins fly I list kindred spirit separate because it spawned as a ramuh but turned to lightning spirit when i hit it. *firedance magmaal ja listed as no count because even though it shared the sprite as the mamool ja knights something in that run of mobs didn't count. later to find out in the big list its listed as a wivre. You can get some you might think are impossible to solo. Some mobs have a very small aggro range, shorter than ws range, making ws and hide work wonders. be ready for autaurch he hits pretty hard. I had to make a second trip for him lol I had a blast on this little scavenger hunt, running around the world with my excalipoor and opo necklace seeing the sights. A couple lucky searches got me in some of the HNMs on my very unlikely list, but they aren't necessary at all to finish this event. My ls didn't have a round of sky pop available at that time or they would have been an easy 9 points. I wasted some gil, but I didn't spend half of what a moly ingot would have cost me. After seeing what others found, i 100% believe you could solo this with enough time and gil. I hope yall have fun out there! |

This is really great man, thanks for posting. I'm kicking myself for only WSing one of the forms of the Shadow Lord fight now >.< As for other wyvern pets, I know that the Ocean Sahagin behind the ornamented door in SSG pops one. So perhaps that's another viable option. I'm feeling the time crunch to get the rest of these done while working full time and this guide will help me polish off a bunch more. I want to get people together to do some Dynamis, DM and ZNMs to up my numbers because I'm worried I won't make it. Anyone else game for this weekend?
