PS2 homebrew has driven pretty far and away more and more recently. The discussion of making a FFXI PS2 Private Server came up. After tossing around some ideas we were thinking of going the Nasomi route and stripping POL as a whole out. When we got to thinking, why don't we just port what's needed from Nasomi into a Custom ISO and inject it with a custom .elf loader for login. Would anyone from the Nasomi dev team would assist from this or the community itself? The PS2 is still a capable machine. More and more are being connected online each day and even Everquest is bring brought back. |

Can you still readily get a ps2 with network adapter and hard drive? My ps2 died ages ago, how much are they these days? |

I know Deadwing is prolly really excited about launching this on ps2 or possibly other consoles, but honestly would be a giant waste of dev time. It's cool from the standpoint of putting a notch in your belt of "MA LOOK AT THE THING I DID" but not really a practical use. |

Infact I have a 2tb hdd in mine and still play games online through private servers such as this. You can modify the network adapter to sata. Pretty much the only mod you need and it's very simple and quick. Then a Freemcboot memory card or freehdboot if you got the skills. |

I still have all my PS2 game discs XD But honestly, if I could play on PS4/PS5 I would be all over it. Ps2, probably not. |

I still have all my PS2 game discs. How would get rid of PlayOnline for the PlayStation 2? Anyways I have been wanting to fire up My old PlayStation 2 just to play this game on it. That would be the coolest thing that could happen because no one the private servers wants to figure it out it seems like. |
