Before I get too far into the game. How conducive is this server for new players leveling up from level 1? Is there help for missions and quests? Is it pure old school where you need a party of 6 people or does it have adventuring companions to make your own party? TYIA |

It's pretty old school in the sense that you typically need a few people to do stuff. Leveling up, you typically need a full party. And no, there are no trusts on this server (where you summon npcs to fight with you). That was added to retail in 2013, most likely during Seekers of Adoulin. You usually have to level up solo until you reach the early teens, like maybe level 12-13, then you can join parties and level up faster. If you join a Linkshell, you should be all right and be able to meet people who can help you with missions and such. Doing a /shout in town can also help if you need something. There are people in town who will help out if you ask them. |
