I don't know what it is about this servers' population - if people know, but just don't care... or have been told and just ignore advice on how to improve a situation that's floundering. Some players here seem to lack the ability to pay attention to what they're doing: whether they're playing 2-3 games simultaneously, watching porn or what-have-you, I'm not sure. When you're solo, multi-tasking is fine... you're on your time and can do as you wish. But, when you take that invite, you're now sharing the clock with 5 other people. It's what happens during this period that has withered away my interest in ever making or joining a party again:

1. SUB-JOBS : LEVEL IT. This is by far the most rampant problem I see. Nobody gets a free pass, for whatever reason, to not have their sub level at least half their main job's level. If your tank can't get away with having WAR at level 5 simply because Provoke is the only thing they really need, then you can't simply level NIN to 12 because Utsusemi is the only thing your BLM (doesn't) needs - which brings me to my next point...

2. DAMAGE CONTROL: There's absolutely no reason why a BLM needs to /NIN outside of soloing and special occasions. Some might argue that dual-wielding wands isn't a bad idea, but, I've yet to see one use this sub for that purpose. If you're worried about pulling hate, that's what Blink and Stoneskin are for. And hey, save yourself some money in tools at the same time. In fact, if you cast those two spells at the start, and then begin throwing out nuke-bombs, you're much less likely to pull hate. When you fail to control damage output at key moments in the battle, it can throw everything off, and you become the object of the tank and THF's annoyance. It simply requires a little patience and situational awareness.

3. EQUIPMENT & SPELLS: This part isn't about what's best in this or that slot, HQ, or not having gear on-hand for a sync 19 levels below you - it's about having gear period, and that which is at least remotely relevant. One excuse I hear a lot is, "It's only my sub, what's the big deal?" If everyone in the party took up this approach toward equips, you can expect the result to be awful indeed. If you can't afford HQ, then there's absolutely no problem with that - I'd much rather have slots full of NQ on an experienced player than HQ all over an amateur. If you can't afford even NQ, I suggest you farm until you can.

Not terribly often, I've seen mages come to camp without essential spells. This is probably due to the aforementioned excuse about it "only being my sub-job, so why do I need it?" Coming to camp with a gimp sub is one thing... but coming to camp also without necessary spells on that sub is another. If you're unsure of which spells are needed, the short answer is: all of them.

4. DUAL-BOXING: I believe I saved the best for last with this one. There are a few that can pull this off without a hitch, and then there are many who couldn't d-box two MNK, let alone main healing and tanking simultaneously. In fact, most of the jobs require undivided attention during most instances. In theory, yes, if nothing ever went wrong, you could d-box fairly easily with most jobs. Obviously, that's never the case, and it's during those crucial moments that a RDM needs to be just a RDM. Unfortunately, the problems tend to arise because someone is attempting to divide their attention between two roles, and then things just fall apart.

If your party doesn't need you to back up heal, NIN is the best sub for BLM before 51. You get better shadows at 24 than the Blink you get at 38 as /WHM or 46 as /RDM. Stoneskin is unavailable until 56 as /WHM and 68 as /RDM. 51+ though, use a staff and a mage sub obviously.

That wasn't really your point though. BLMs definitely have issues not knowing hot to manage their enmity on this server. Since every party has a THF it can really tank the party's overall damage output.

I agree with most points here.

9 times out of 10 people who dual box are trash and cannot do it despite their claims. Literally every Dual Boxer ever encountered in my entire life are garbage at it, lol. This is across all games, not just this one.

Have you ever seen a level 30 BLM cast blink or stoneskin? Yeah me neither. Good NINs shouldn't have to worry about a BLM taking hate from them though :)

As Aramiltaru said, you totally missed the point. Unsurprised.

Reminds me of Allakhazam circa 2004 lol.

I agree, there's a certain etiquette or common courtesy one should be expected to follow when teaming up with others. Before even putting up the seek party flag, you should be able to answer "yes" to a simple check list like:

"Is my sub job appropriate to the situation, and properly leveled?"
"Do I have proper gear, necessary spells, and/or items?" (Ammunition, Ninja Tools, Food, Meds, etc.)
"Do I have enough time to even warrant joining a party?"

If you can't answer "yes" to those questions, then you are not being very conscientious of other people's time by joining their party.

Taking the easy and lazy way out strikes me as odd behavior for a server such as Nasomi which is all about "the grind" and doing things the hard way. There are other servers that should be more attractive to players looking to invest minimal time and effort. Then again, it wouldn't be quite the same nostalgic experience if every player was a hardcore veteran with HQ gear and perfect play style. Retail wasn't exactly a utopian community after all.

As for BLM/NIN, I actually think it can work out quite well in the earlier levels. Elemental magic is super powerful here, and a BLM/NIN can basically nuke an XP mob down from around 50% without taking any damage. It makes sense if they pull hate near the end of a fight to finish a mob off while the puller disengages to find the next target, and the healer maybe takes a knee a bit earlier.

The main issue I've noticed with hate control has more to do with the abundance of power leveling on this server. Hate seems to bounce all over in parties with a PL, and I suspect this contributes much to the overall disdain of THF's on this server.

Hey Xoo screw ranting. I'll static with you anytime. Geared, SJ ready, and skills near cap.

I 100% agree with you on all points.

1. I feel like an idiot when my SJ is more then 5 lvls under my main. So should everyone else.
2. BLM can control hate. They can take hate with 0 effort, and manage hate to never get hit with barely any effort. Tank skill doesn't matter if your BLM is stupid. Any BLM that needs /NIN outside of solo, or boss fights needs to learn the job or change it now, as /NIN provides 0 party benefit.
3. Gear/Spells are expensive. If you cant afford them its time to stop seeking and start farming. The longer you wait the more you'll have to catch up.
4. Dualbox shouldn't be used in a party unless you have to. In EXP, and Events most jobs need you to focus on what your doing. Party leaders, and members should choose right away if they support dual boxing.

People can argue their sides, and this is all personal opinion/drama material. I think your right, but I know society is designed to punish you for your opinions. Looking at Kubisnaxx the troll of all your posts lol. Some people have too much time and not enough wisdom to see other points of view.
