I found Nasomi by googling "FFXI Private Servers" and then reading through one of those... Uh... Weird rank lists. And then I got to the Darkstar Servers wiki and read through the list there. Picked Nasomi as it doesn't use increased rates. |

Was looking up FFXI on Google, decided to see if there were any private servers and this seemed to be the most stable one I could find. Been playing through Stormblood on FFXIV and much as I love the aesthetics of it, I hate how WoW it became, and I've only had a brief interaction a few years ago with FFXI, and looking for something free I can play and drop a couple hours a day onto. This seemed like a great fit. Hope I can find some help in game to ease me into the toughness that is FFXI. |

I wanted to play FFXI after trying the official trial version twice, but I can't pay the monthly fee and that's why I was searching a private server where I could play for free. So, I did a small research in google and this server was among the first results. One thing that caught my attention was that this server emulates the mechanics of the game during 2005 (I did not even know that the game existed until 2009 tbh, when I began to follow some of the storyline through some channels on YT) I said to myself "Why not try this?"

My friends found the server and told me about it. I first started FFXI when it ported to Xbox. |
