Post subject:  Make sense to not pursue COR?

I read on one of the other boards that mostly all the COR AF wasnt available. My Static wants me to run a COR with them for the support and backup DMG. I read that and realized that I have yet to see any COR on the server. Are they totally gimped even if you unlock them?

If thats the case Ill try something else, any insight would be appreciated. I figured more people check this thread so I figured I would pop this topic in for some help.

Thanks in advance!

You rarely see COR seeking because they find parties and get to 75 very fast. If you have Riverne A01 access you'll be able to get from 40-75 in a week if you have decent playtime. Regarding the AF, the gun and the pants work and honestly those are the only two decent pieces, with the pants only being good when +1. You can sub in War Brais+1 for the AF pants until you are able to upgrade them. Having the AF1 hat for Quick Draw would be nice, but is not at all required. The entire AF2 set is available though, so you will definitely want to pick up at least the hat from that. You certainly can DD on COR, but honestly most people will only care about your rolls. You'll find Misareaux Coast or Gustav Tunnel merit groups quite easily as well as a 75 COR.

Epyon, fashoda! I appreciate the advice. Personally, I am in a great Static that does content together and will enjoy both the dps and rolling aspect of the job. I am glad you cleared up the AF mess though! But honestly the intent is not to DD. I also main RNG as well so it will be situational based with our static so if I want to provide support/light dps ill roll COR and if we just need brute heavy DPS ill roll the RNG.

Thanks again for the insight, i was about to give up on maining this bad boy but, now that i know it doesnt matter its time to rock and roll.

All of the in-era rolls are available, though make sure not to waste your $ on the out of era ones, which either do not work, or can cause crashes, (unless Nas has since fixed them, in which case they simply will not work and you'll waste your gil.) Also, make sure not to skip Fighter's Roll and Samurai Roll; I've seen a few COR who decided that all melee will simply want a combination of Corsair's, Chaos, or Hunter's roll and didn't bother to get those two very useful, albeit situational melee rolls. Gallant's roll is quite good for endgame content as well when you reach that stage, though it may have since been fixed from it's former OP boost, (I don't keep up with updates much anymore.)
