If I recall, pirates didn't spawn often on retail either. Maybe I was just unlucky, I'd always hope they would

THANK YOU(!!!) for making this topic.

I've been camping the boat for 2 weeks now and have encountered pirates 4 times all spread between days. I have yet to get my Sand Charm due to the reliance of being loaded into the boat that has the pirate music, the reliance of them ACTUALLY spawning, AND the low drop rate.

Seriously, what's up with that? If the pirate music plays, I expect pirates. At least fix this if you intend to keep their appearance rate low.

I've spent more time on these two boats than I have in both Bastok and San d'Oria combined.

This is worse than camping HNMs.

Nasomi has stated earlier last week on IRC he had done a temporary fix to them, but I have yet to notice any difference whatsoever. Had I known sooner they would appear significantly less compared to when they were first fixed and implemented, I'd have gotten mine from the get go.

And seeing them by chance and luck if you weren't religiously camping them =/= fine. Anyone who actually has been camping them like I have knows there's something wrong.

If they'd just spawn when the pirate music happens (which happens at a very REASONABLE chance right now by the way), things would be fine, but needing to rely on 2 factors (the music and them actually popping) is pushing it.

Things like the pirates are hard to fix I've been told. Be patient, he'll fix it I'm sure.

Then what he can do is just revert it back to what it was when he first implemented them, sounds simple enough and doesn't hurt anyone or anything in the game.

I'm sure it's not that simple or he would have done that by now. I'm also not sure how it was when it was first implemented

Keep hearing complaints about ppl getting killed by pirates while travelling to dunes (poor windurstians :twisted: ) so I'm sure it's not that low.
