Hello, With the recent blu fixes that I thoroughly appreciate, I wanted to draw some attention to a job closer to my heart, smn. The big fix being avatar skillchains/magicbursts. In retail avatars could skillchain and MB, but on Nasomi they can't. Skillchains/MB with the avatar was one of the most fun aspects of lvling on smn in retail and they should have them on here to add the much needed versatility to the job as it was intended to be and not just do a bloodpact: rage and release every minute. Speaking of, as it stands there is absolutely no point to using an avatar's magic atk blood pacts because they are almost always resisted in some form. I don't know if the macc formulas are the same for avatars, but before and after the most recent macc adjustments a few months back the avatar's macc dmg and acc is still abysmal. Also this renders the job II merit category useless and I have personally tested the merited blood pacts (Magic based) from 0-300 pet tp and almost always was resisted even with macc smn merits (especially anything that matters @75 with IT+ and above). This severely dampens the job's potential because all you can really use are physical blood pacts and the avatars that are known for their elements have almost no point to care about their elemental weakness/strengths without being able using magic based attacks. All am asking is for these minor fixes in hopes of making smn closer to what it was in retail. This would open up more possibilities for smn in exp (very hard job to lvl on nasomi) and at 75 for endgame content than a mindless bloodpact/release machine it has been. Lastly there is a couple of smn gear pieces that aren't working as their descriptions say: -Summoner's Horn (and +1) do not reduce blood pact ability delay as it should -Karura Hachigane (ZNM piece) the Garuda perp -2 works, but the Garuda atk/defense bonus does not https://imgur.com/t1WCJbA Picture is of Garuda's stats before and after equipping the Karura Hachigane. (Wiki says the atk/def bonus is +10) No stat change whatsoever when equipped, while other gear that increases avatar stats in /checkparam do show the change. Love the attention and rate of addressing the recent issues/bugs on the server and hope they continue. This was just my 2gil on a job I love that hopefully gets back closer to what is should be ![]() Edit: I forgot avatar MB do work just they don't show up in the log, but dmg is still bleh regardless. Still no SCs though! |

Unfortunately, everything you posted has been a known issue for a very long time. Avatar MACC especially has been an issue long before the update a few months ago, stemming from a fix that was implemented in late 2015 or early 2016 (can't remember which,) to fix Avatar's wildly OP elemental damage at the time. The lack of SC/MB, the current state of Astral Flow, and summoning magic skill calculating incorrectly have all been looked at, either by Nas or Deadwing when he was still around, (again can't remember which,) and were deemed too time-consuming in the face of more pressing issues. If you want to see this looked at your best bet is to bring it to Nas directly in IRC, as he very rarely reads anything on the forums unless its a drama-thread that needs closing. |

The reason I posted here is because there are plenty of known long term issues but there has been a recent trend of positive fixes as a result of posts on the main chat page of long term or brand new issues. It's also the main channel that most read anyway. I think going from OP elemental dmg to practically 0 dmg the elemental is now for avatars is warranting another look at, so maybe this time it'll be just right ![]() Plus the gear issues I posted should be an simpler fix in compassion to the others mentioned. Some things will never get fixed without someone bringing them back up every once in a while. |
