With the influx of new players and population growing is it time to change how AH works?

I notice on a few items (SH, Vlcaw etc) since they are pretty rare and the demand is going up some are really raising the price without
having to worry that its taking up AH space (no limit atm? or very high anyways) and items can be up for sale for over 80 days?

People are bound to cave in and these prices will keep raising I feel, since the demand is going up for so many new players.

Right now theres no risk of jacking up prices.

Is there something i'm missing?

Yes, how having unlimited AH postings has created an absolutely THRIVING economy.

Nas likes the unlimited listings. But perhaps the time items are listed for can change. Newbies who come and go in 1 or 2 days clog up the crystal market for up to 90 days as their crystals sell, never to be picked up from their dboxes...

I do agree with that... then again, when people see 300 of an item up (even if they are super overpriced) it tends to keep the prices down as people post more conservatively thinking they need to undercut every single one of those 300 items to sell.

Well, that'd only happen if 300 were listed in a short time if the time was shorter.

With lower listing time there is less incentive to try to gouge if you have patience to wait for stuff to sell 80 days you can put something for high price if it's rarely stocked. But if you can only list for 14 days, you'll be eating the AH price every time you list con.

It's going to change to 30 days according to social media posts last night.

I think it's a good change, but I don't think it's going to ultimately fix the issue that Nas is trying to fix

I agree, this is a step in the right direction. We have a pretty good economy but this will make it thrive even more as more people will be willing to spend that gil!
