Every now and then I get the urge to play, but I just dont have the time anymore, not for this game. I used to love waiting in one place for 3 hours to get a party going, only to kill two mobs, wipe once on a bad pull, then have everyone disband. Good times. Memorable times. There are a lot of you guys that I really miss, you know who you are, some of you still play. It was fun, and I'm glad I was able to help when I could. Even if I would return, I'm sure my character is still bugged and unable to do CoP, I'd have to bug Nas for a week straight for him to look at it seriously. All the other times I tried, it always fell through, here I am, over 3 years later, and I havent cleared a single promy. If I do return, I think I'll just be a pocket WHM and just run around and heal for everybody. That sounds like fun Just wanted to know I think of everyone here that plays. It's way easier to make a party now. Way more people, i've put parties together in 15min, gathered in another 15min, partied for an hour and a half. Got a level. It's way easier with more people these days. The new installer is lightning fast so you won't spend all day installing the game, either. It's a different game than it was a year or two ago. |

A couple of questions/observations: First, if you don't have the time anymore to play ffxi, is it really relevant if you can't progress on cop or not? Second, if you want to just play and have fun, yet also eventually solve your cop problem, just start a new character; the bulk of the time in this game is spent getting established with gil, and crafting if you do it. You can easily transfer any gil and non-ra/ex items over, and ah, well, unless your drk was pimped out, there isn't much ra/ex gear that is hard to get for smn/whm. I wager you could get re-established in a month or two and that there's numerous people who would help you. It sucks, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses. I barely 'play' anymore but I sit online a lot of the time and wave to people and talk a tiny bit in LS and then when I DO feel like I have time I go and spend 8 hours having fun doing something. No ones forcing you to party every day or even every week or every month. There is no subscription, no rush, plenty of new faces... just being part of the world is good enough fun for me. |

I spent way too much time and am too attached to the character I have to ever toss it aside and start over. That and theres a whole lot of crap I never want to have to do again. Theres a lot of ra/ex RNG nonsense to get some of the stuff I have. Not to mention all of the stuff I have that is quite hard to get. Some of which need an actual army to obtain. I'm sure that isnt hard to do now that theres a WHOLE lot more than 80 people playing like before, but still. I'd rather help others get the stuff than need to recruit people to get it for me. |
