I only ever played FF XI when it first came out for about 3-4 months. I don't have that super nostalgia feeling people seem to have here for the most part, but this is a game I want to do get into. It seems like it makes the community work together which is something I can enjoy. But I guess my biggest questions is how does some one like me who does not have real experience with this game begin? I sat in Sandoria for 15-20 minutes looking for any one to even respond to me about a linkshell request. Then I sat for another 20 minutes at level 20 looking for a group invite. Nothing. So I essentially just sat and looked at my screen for 40 minutes with no one replying to me or no one to talk to doing nothing. I guess my question is there some thing I can do while waiting for invites or... is there a place I can get a linkshell or meet people or any thing? I am level 23 or 24 black mage and I have my sub job and I have been to Jueno. Thanks! |

You're doing everything right. While waiting for party invites you can level another job, solo on your BLM (BLM can solo l the way to 75, but it's slower than partying), farm for gear/equipment, or craft/HELM. You should figure out when you can play that gets the highest amount of activity for your level. Even with 500+ people logging in, Nasomi isn't as busy as retail so it can take longer to get parties sometimes. |

Thanks for the replay. I guess my issue is when I level another job and look for a party they won't know im looking on my Black Mage. I tried to get into crafting but probably not hard enough I suppose. Is there like a Linkshell for new players to group together? I guess its just pretty lonely tbh. |

Look for an LS named “GreeterPatrol” I joined them a few weeks ago, it’s not of the larger social LSes out there with TONS of help. |

My Suggestion is to Burn and Churn EPs/DCs Black mage should be strong enough to 2/3 Shot a couple of Mobs that are low for 30-60 exp. It will help you earn more Gil as well and you stay on the job you are looking for. For example at 20, you could go to the bottom right of Dunes and kill the Lizards there while waiting for a party. Should be able to Bind/Spell/Spell/Spell and they are dead. Just make sure you have mana to spare. Will earn you quite a bit of Lizard Skin Tail that you can sell not for a huge amount but still. |
