How hard is it to find parties/get a party going? Should I level a solo oriented job?

Post subject:  How hard is it to find parties/get a party going? Should I level a solo oriented job?
I'm debating whether I should level WAR or BLM. WAR can't solo, while BLM can do it decently.

If I can only play in 2 hour chunks, what makes the most sense? I typically play NA prime time. Is WAR in demand for parties (or possibly SAM)?

There are a ton of people so you won't have trouble forming/finding parties (esp if you aren't a THF). 2 hours is quite limiting though.

BLM and SAM will receive many invites. WAR less so. Of course SAM can't solo quite like BLM, but if you think you'll enjoy it more, go SAM. I think you'll get more consistent party invites as you level up while on SAM - but also you'll have less prospects as SAM at endgame than BLM.

With 2 hour chunks you might have to set up static party at set times.

If you wanna play war, play war, its gonna snag up a lot of lower level invites really quick as a tank.

2 hours was a conservative estimate, but I guess it's good to know that it could be limiting.

Are DDs in general in-demand for parties or are SAMs just amazing? SAM would be one of my top choices, but I'm also interested in RNG and DRK.

All DDs are fine for exping, although theres a huge oversaturation of people leveling thf so might have a hard time getting quick invites on THF due to most pts only wanting 1. If you are a war, sam or drg you'll probably get easier invites 50+ due to usually fighting piercing weak mobs, and all of those classes can use polearms for pentathrust. (Rng and thf are also piercing dmg) but just because you arent a piercing dd doesnt mean you wont get invites 50+, I used to kill it on KRT bats when I was leveling my mnk lol.

Now if you are talking about endgame use, for stuff like sky, dynamis and limbus, all the DDs will do fine for the most part, but when it comes to HNM, RNG probably gets the most mileage, followed by sam, war and drk, which in most fights would be just for skill chain usage (or drk zerg.) Drg also can get a spot for angon in most fights. One th4 thf will also get use, although it may not be til the last few percentages of a hnm fight.

Really it comes down to play what you enjoy or thinks looks the coolest lol. You can always level up other jobs if you decide you want to be me versatile in endgame. If you wanna solo look into bst, can be a good DD in pts as well, plus most of the gear you get for BST would work on other jobs like war sam and drk.

No one has mentioned yet, but you can't solo pets here on BLM. They don't give accurate xp. BLM is fairly easy to level up to 50ish, after that you might need to manaburn. But the good news is, you can manaburn with as little as 3 BLM. That makes for a fairly easy static.

Well, that puts a damper on things a little. But I'm going to take WAR to 37 regardless, first.

I got bst up to 37. Then when I can't party, don't have time, or just don't want to, I will take my job is go /bst.
