I am trying to reach out to Nasomi in order to help fix some of the most annoying issues (namely, level sync update when members change, or chat filters being lost on zone). I was wondering if there is already a process for contributing. Some of these issues have already been fixed in Darkstar source (already contributing to the opensource project myself), but I was wondering how we can help integrate those fixes in Nas' instance of Darkstar. Nas is very wary of taking any code from anybody. This is to prevent players from accusing those who send Nasomi code of favoritism. It protects both Nasomi's integrity and players who want to help from being ostracized by players. |

Thanks for the prompt reply. Ideally, Nasomi would have a git fork of Darkstar's github project, representing the current snapshot of the server-side code that is in his box. If that was the case, people would be able to contribute without necessarily relating the data to a server's username. That way, we could track issues that are specific to Nasomi's server using github's issue tracking. It would also promote contribution at a larger scale! I do understand that he may have the current process for a good reason. |

You realize there are $$$$$ bounties on nas's code and that there is no way that it would ever be made public? |

Nas's source is closed so that people do not hunt around for exploits, then utilize them in game. His source is 100% incompatible with dsp's at this point, very little works as it shares very little since he started working on his own over 3 years ago. Nas has been burned by code contributions in the past, and has decided that it's simply not worth the headaches and bad publicity. |

if u offer him the specifics instructions of change he may take them into account and put them into play |
